Open-Ended Meeting of the CPR to UNEA

The Open-Ended Meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representatives (CPR) to the UN Environment Assembly (UNEA) will consider policy matters and prepare draft decisions for the consideration of the UNEA when it meets in June 2014. The meeting will discuss, inter alia: new mechanisms to promote transparency and civil society engagement; critical gaps and recommendations on the science-policy interface;and recommendations to the Secretary-General on enhancing UNEP's role in key UN coordination bodies. The CPR will also discuss implementation of past UNEP Governing Council decisions, including a policy on access to information; international water quality guidelines for ecosystems; and outcomes of a consultative process on enhancing coordination within the chemicals and wastes cluster. The CPR is the subsidiary inter-session body of UNEP's governing body.
