Mahatma Gandhi International Sanitation Convention (MGISC)

Ministers and sanitation sector leaders from around the world will come together for the Mahatma Gandhi International Sanitation Convention (MGISC) in New Delhi, India. Hosted by the Government of India, the 4-day event will provide an opportunity for participating countries to share sanitation success stories and best practices. The conference will include plenary and technical sessions, as well as an exhibition of global sanitation innovations.

The event will culminate with the launch of Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth year celebrations, and mark the beginning of the final year of the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), or Clean India Mission, which seeks to end open defecation in the country and contribute to the global achievement of SDG 6 (clean water and sanitation).
