The liaison group is tasked with: developing proposals on definitions for climate-related geo-engineering; informing parties of the known and expected impacts (positive, negative and neutral) of geo-engineering on biodiversity and associated social, economic and cultural considerations; and providing advice to parties on assessing the potential and unknown impacts of geo-engineering on biodiversity and associated social, economic and cultural considerations. The Liaison Group will produce a document for consideration by SBSTTA at its 16th meeting.
