Launch of the Global Opportunities for SDGs (GO for SDGs) Initiative

The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, Germany, in collaboration with the Green Growth Knowledge Partnership (GGKP) and other initiatives, are organizing an event on the sidelines of the Climate Action Summit and SDG Summit to formally launch the Global Opportunities for SDGs (GO for SDGs) initiative – a regional accelerator of green economy solutions.

The side event is titled, 'Creating Opportunities for Inclusive and Sustainable Economies'. Speakers will include:

  • Svenja Schulze, Federal Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, Germany,
  • Krista Mikkonen, Minister of the Environment and Climate Change, Finland,
  • Prakash Javadekar, Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, India, and
  • Inger Andersen, Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme.
