Latin American Learning Conference on a Holistic Implementation of the 2030 Agenda

The Learning Conference aims to share knowledge on how national planning approaches and tools can be revisited to ensure an integrated approach to implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The Conference will bring together high-level representatives from Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) and UN officials involved in the the SDGs process to discuss challenges and potential solutions for advancing the SDGs and to prepare for the May 2018 LAC Forum on Sustainable Development. The meeting will feature a Ministerial Roundtable on financing implementation of the 2030 Agenda, and 10 thematic sessions that will cover, inter alia, multi-stakeholder approaches and various stages of the national policy-making cycle, such as strategic foresight, integrated sectoral and territorial planning, the development of national results frameworks and indicators, adjustment of national monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems to ensure they are fit-for-purpose, and preparation of national, regional and global level reviews. The UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) is organizing the meeting, with the Governments of Colombia and Spain, the UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and the UN Department for Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA).
