Held under the theme 'Forests for Sustainable Development: The Role of Research,' this regional congress of the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO) will aim to reach a common understanding of the status and trends of forests and the consequent research needs towards sustainable forestry development under such changes. It will also seek to generate research synergies in support of well-informed policy and decision making to meet the forest governance and management demands in such a transition period.
