This side event is being organized by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). The Global Atlas is an interactive internet-based mapping platform, designed to raise awareness on technology opportunities, limit the financial risk for countries willing to further investigate their technical potentials, and support companies willing to invest in a new market. Ministers and vice-ministers from Brazil, Denmark, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa and representatives from industry will provide their visions on the added-value of international cooperation on mapping the world’s renewable energy resources. During the event, IRENA will sign a partnership agreement with the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE), which will faciliate future joint activities in Latin America and the Caribbean.
