The Secretariat of the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), with the support of the UN Environment Programme – World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC) will hold a side event during the twelfth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP 12) to brief participants on the progress made to date in implementing the IPBES work programme, and on what can be expected in the coming months and years. Opportunity will be provided for participants to discuss further, how the work of IPBES can most effectively contribute to implementation of the CBD at all levels.
