The Basel Convention Regional Centre for the Caribbean Region (BCRC-Caribbean) and the Secretariat for the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions (SBRSC) will host this regional workshop for key personnel in the management of industrial chemicals in Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Belize, Cuba, Dominica, the Dominican Republic, Guyana, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago. The workshop seeks to raise awareness of the need for meeting national obligations under the Rotterdam Convention, to facilitate the development of frameworks and implementation plans for industrial chemicals management, and to provide tools and approaches such as risk assessment methods and the use of the Globally Harmonized System for the Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS).
