As part of the Ankara Initiative adopted during the twelfth session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 12) to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), the Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs of Turkey will organize this workshop. Meeting participants will exchange information and share experiences to support the evaluation of Middle East dust sources and impacts within the scientific framework. Specifically, the workshop will focus on: dust sources and monitoring change in these sources over the Middle East; dust-climate interaction in the Middle East; dust forecast and modelling; and monitoring and impacts of dust transport affecting the Middle East.
