International Workshop on Governance ‘of’ and ‘for’ SDGs

Participants at this workshop will discuss key questions relating to the governance of, and governance for, the post-2015 development agenda. Invited participants will discuss governance scenarios for implementing integrated Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and targets, including multi-level governance from global, regional, national and local levels. Questions to be discussed include: What should be the implementation and monitoring and evaluation mechanisms for the SDGs? What can the UN do for it? How should HLPF be institutionalized? What are the key governance functions, styles, ideas, and issues that need to be addressed by the SDGs? The workshop is expected to result in a policy-oriented report. The UN University Institute of Advanced Studies (UNU-IAS), Earth System Governance project and POST2015 project are organizing the workshop, with sponsorship from Japan's Ministry of Environment.
