This conference is organized by the Spanish Presidency of the EU and aims to, inter alia: spread awareness of the main consequences of climate change as related to reduced water resources; encourage the inclusion of the concepts of water scarcity and drought prevention in everyday water resource planning; explore the opportunities offered by current legislation on water scarcity and drought management; present the most innovative and/or novel tools, methods and techniques for promoting water savings and the use of alternative resources, encouraging the use of renewable sources; and discuss the environmental, economic and social impacts of water scarcity and drought.
