The 2015 International Recovery Forum will be organized under the theme 'Commemorating Two Decades of Lessons from the 1995 Kobe Earthquake and its Critical Importance to the Post-2015 Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction,' coinciding with a series of commemorative events on disaster risk reduction (DRR) planned in Kobe, Japan, for the month of January 2015. The Forum is being organized by the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR), the Asian Disaster Reduction Centre (ADRC), Japan's Cabinet Office, the Hyogo Prefectural Government (HPG) and the International Recovery Platform (IRP). The Forum outcomes are expected to provide inputs for the discussions on DRR at the forthcoming World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction, taking place from 14-18 March 2015 in Sendai, Japan.
