Global Infrastructure Forum 2016

The Global Infrastructure Forum mandated by the Addis Ababa Action Agenda (AAAA) on financing for development (FFD) is being planned as part of the 2016 Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group, under the theme 'Spending more, spending better on infrastructure'. The Forum aims to improve alignment and coordination among multilateral development banks and development partners to facilitate the development of sustainable, accessible and resilient quality infrastructure for developing countries through enhanced technical support, more effective use of public resources, and better leveraging public and private investment. The 2016 Forum is being organized by: the World Bank, African Development Bank (AfDB), Asian Development Bank (ADB), Inter-American Development Bank (IADB), Islamic Development Bank (IDB), European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), European Investment Bank (EIB), Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), and the National Development Bank (NDB). Participants are expected to be about 300 delegates from governments, ministries of finance, energy, transport, and planning or infrastructure, as well as UN agencies, regional development banks, bilateral partners, national development banks, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the World Economic Forum (WEF), private sector representatives, and other development partners.
