Informal Multi-stakeholder Hearing for the UN General Assembly (UNGA) High-level Meeting to Address Large Movements of Refugees and Migrants

In preparation for the UN General Assembly (UNGA) high-level meeting to address large movements of refugees and migrants (HLM) on 19 September 2016, the Office of the UNGA President will host an informal interactive multi-stakeholder hearing that will provide the opportunity for stakeholders to engage with UN Member States on the topic. The UN Non-Governmental Liaison Service (UN-NGLS) and the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) are facilitating an open and participatory process to identify attendees and speakers for this event, as well as for the HLM. NGOs that are in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) with relevant expertise are invited to apply to register for the informal hearing and/or for the 19 September HLM, and NGOs that are not accredited to ECOSOC are invited to apply for special accreditation. The outcome of the hearing will be a President's summary.
