The UN General Assembly will hold an informal meeting on the organizational modalities for the September 2015 summit to adopt the post-2015 development agenda. The co-facilitators for intergovernmental consultations ahead of the Summit are Ib Petersen, Permanent Representative of Denmark, and Robert Guba Aisi, Permanent Representative of Papua New Guinea (PNG). Governments agreed to hold the summit, which will take place at the level of Heads of State and Government, in the outcome document of the Special Event to follow-up on efforts made towards achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) (Resolution 68/6), held on 25 September 2013. At the first informal consultations, governments are invited to exchange ideas on duration and timing, format and structure, participation, preparation and outcome of the Summit.
