Non-governmental organizations (NGOs), the private sector and academia will take part in this informal hearing, which is taking place under the theme 'Global Progress, National Action: Moving from commitment to implementation'. The hearing will include roundtable sessions on: enhancing international cooperation for NCDs; and mobilizing whole-of-society efforts for NCD prevention and control and national and regional levels. The event is organized in advance of the UN General Assembly's (UNGA) High-Level Meeting on NCDs, which will take place from 10-11 July 2014. The UNGA will assess progress on NCDs since 2011.
