The III Latin American and Caribbean Congress of Protected Areas will be held under the theme, ‘Solutions for Welfare and Sustainable Development’. An initiative of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and its World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA), the Congress provides a space for exchange of experience and debate on the formulation and implementation of public policies.

The meeting will address, inter alia: well-being and protected areas and linkages with the SDGs; protected areas’ contribution to climate change mitigation and adaptation; and coastal and marine conservation and sustainability.
