This follow-up workshop, hosted by Global Sustainable Electricity Partnership (GSEP), Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and Asociación Iberoamericana de Entidades Reguladoras de la Energía (ARIAE), will reinforce the discussion on financing low-carbon electricity in Latin America that began during the August 2011 dialogue. The regional dialogues aim to: transfer business-oriented expertise for the financing of sustainable electrification projects; enhance developing and emerging countries’ capacities to attract advanced power technology investment through the development of appropriate policy strategies and actions plans; and strengthen public-private partnerships to create and environment conducive for the deployment of low-carbon electricity technologies.
