The International Energy Agency (IEA), Mexican Department of Energy (SENER), and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) are holding this event to encourage policymakers to exchange best practices in sustainable energy, and will also see the launch of several new publications. The training event is particularly focused on low-carbon energy policies and technologies, including energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. Two parallel courses on “Energy Efficiency Policy and Measures” and “Energy Technology Planning and Analysis” are offered. During the event, several new publications will also be released, including: the IEA’s “Energy Technology Perspectives 2012”; the Latin American version of the “Energy Efficiency Governance Handbook”; and the IDB's new monthly series of energy efficiency booklets.
