The 2023 session of the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) will be the 11th session of the HLPF, and will take place in July 2023.
The meeting will be held from Monday, 10 July, to Friday, 14 July, and from Monday, 17 July, to Thursday, 20 July 2023, under the auspices of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). The second week will include a three-day ministerial segment, convening as a part of the high-level segment of the Council.
The HLPF is the main UN platform on sustainable development. It has a central role in the follow-up and review of implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its SDGs. All UN Member States as well as representatives from civil society organizations participate in the HLPF, which meets under the auspices of ECOSOC.
The 2023 HLPF will hold in-depth reviews of five SDGs: 6 (clean water and sanitation), 7 (affordable and clean energy), 9 (industry, innovation and infrastructure), 11 (sustainable cities and communities), and 17 (partnerships for the Goals).
