The High-level Plenary for the Elimination of Nuclear Weapons will take place during the 75th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 75) and will commemorate and promote the International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons, held annually on 26 September.

The plenary aims to:

• advocate for resuming dialogue and negotiations for nuclear arms control and disarmament;
• consider how States can return to a common path to nuclear disarmament; and 
• highlight the need for renewed engagement for building sustainable peace and security for all.
