High-Level Meeting of ECOSOC with Bretton Woods Institutions, WTO and UNCTAD

A special high-level meeting of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) with the Bretton Woods institutions, the World Trade Organization (WTO), and the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) will take place on 22 April 2013. The overall theme of the meeting is “Coherence, coordination and cooperation in the context of financing for development and the post-2015 development agenda”. The event will include: a high-level interactive panel discussion with Ministers of Finance and Development Cooperation, Governors of Central Banks and inter-governmental representatives at the ministerial level on “World economic situation and prospects in the wake of the world financial and economic crisis;” a thematic debate on “Financing for sustainable development, including leveraging of private capital, in the context of the follow-up to the outcome of the Rio+20 Conference;” and a thematic debate on “Global partnership for development in the context of the post-2015 development agenda”.
