The Government of Mozambique, with support from the Government of Norway, will convene the first Growing Blue Conference on the theme, ‘Sustainable and Shared Use of the Ocean’.

The conference will kick off a permanent ‘Growing Blue’ dialogue, focusing on implementation of SDG 14 (life below water), which will meet biennially. Drawing on the 2050 Africa’s Integrated Maritime Strategy and a policy handbook on Africa’s Blue Economy, the meeting will focus on four thematic areas: ocean governance; ocean innovation; ocean highways; and ocean power.
