Global Workshop on SDG 6 Integrated Monitoring

The Integrated Monitoring Initiative for the Sustainable Development Goal on Clean Water and Sanitation (SDG 6) Initiative aims to develop and support a monitoring framework for water and sanitation that informs progress towards the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and facilitates well-informed decision-making in national water sectors. Efforts this year have been focused on country capacity building and collecting data for a 2017 global baseline.

Towards this effort, UN-Water is inviting all Members and Partners to the first global workshop on SDG 6 integrated monitoring, which will provide a platform for jointly reviewing results and for learning and preparing for future monitoring. The specific objectives of the global workshop are to: share experiences and identify key success factors and challenges from the baseline process, in particular regarding national processes and structures for integrated monitoring; share, analyze and provide feedback on preliminary results from the 2017 global baseline process; contribute to the development of a community of practice for SDG 6 monitoring; and raise awareness for participation in 2018 and beyond. All UN Member States are invited to this workshop and the primary audience will be the overall focal point for SDG 6 monitoring in each country.
