Global Sustainable Development Report (GSDR) 2023 Release

The UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) will formally launch the second edition of the Global Sustainable Development Report (GSDR) in September 2023 (date to be confirmed). An advance unedited version of the report was shared with Member States on 28 March 2023.

The 2023 GSDR focuses on accelerating transformation through key entry points and will provide evidence to help scientists overcome challenges and accelerate SDG action at the mid-point of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Published every four years, the GSDR is prepared by an independent group of scientists appointed by the UN Secretary-General and aims to strengthen the science-policy interface. The 2023 report will support discussions at this year’s UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) in July and the SDG Summit in September.

The first GSDR was published in 2019. Read its summary here.
