The First Global Soil Week will provide a platform to initiate follow-up actions on land and soil-related decisions made at the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20) and will take place in the framework of the FAO’s Global Soil Partnership. This event will provide a forum of interactive exchange and dialogue among stakeholders from science, government, business and civil society. The event is organized through a collaboration between the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies' (IASS’) Global Soil Forum and the European Commission (EC), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the German Federal Environmental Agency (UBA), the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
