The UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) has announced that a global preparatory meeting will convene to support the review of SDG 7 (affordable and clean energy) at the 2018 session of the UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF 2018).
The meeting, convening on the theme 'Energizing the 2030 Agenda, will bring together key stakeholders from governments, the UN system and other international organizations, the private sector, and civil society to engage in a dialogue that emphasized the integrated and cross-cutting nature of sustainable energy and its multiple roles in supporting the achievement of the SDGs.
The July 2018 session of the HLPF also will conduct an in-depth review of SDGs 6 (clean water and sanitation), 11 (sustainable cities and communities), 12 (responsible consumption and production) and 15 (life on land), in addition to Goal 7.
