This conference on Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) will showcase 20 years of delivering RECP services to industry and identify areas of interest and potential partnership at the national, regional and global levels within the context of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In addition, this conference will: explore innovative approaches to RECP through exchanging best practices and sharing success stories and replicable solutions; address such topics as low-carbon production, chemicals management, water resources, eco-industrial parks, waste management and gender mainstreaming; and provide the opportunity to chart a path forward for RECP promotion. This conference will bring together senior government officials, international RECP practitioners, representatives of development financial institutions, and cleaner production experts from research institutions and academia. The UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), in cooperation with the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), is organizing the conference. The Conference will be held in conjunction with the World Resources Forum 2015.
The joint Programme on RECP aims to improve resource efficiency and the environmental performance of businesses and other organizations through scaling up and mainstreaming the application of RECP methods, techniques and policies.
