Global Infrastructure Forum 2018

Hosted by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the 2018 Global Infrastructure Forum aims to enhance coordination among multilateral development banks (MDBs) and their development partners to better develop sustainable, accessible, resilient and quality infrastructure for developing countries. The Forum will consider the theme, ‘Unlocking Inclusive, Resilient, and Sustainable Technology-driven Infrastructure,’ and focus on how governments and their working partners can attract more resources for infrastructure, and how efforts to develop infrastructure have contributed to the SDGs and Paris Agreement goals. The meeting will bring together representatives from governments, the private sector, academia, civil society, MDBs and other international organizations.

The Forum is organized by partners from MDBs, including the African Development Bank (AfDB), European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the World Bank, in collaboration with the UN.

The meeting will take place in parallel with the 2018 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group. The 2015 Addis Ababa Action Agenda (AAAA) called on the MDBs to establish the Global Infrastructure Forum, to “improve alignment and coordination among established and new infrastructure initiatives.”

The SDG Knowledge Hub includes summaries of the Global Infrastructure Forum from 2017 and 2016.
