Global Forum on Human Settlements 2018

The 2018 annual session of the Global Forum on Human Settlements (GFHS 2018) will convene under the theme ‘Advance Urban Innovations towards Achieving SDG 11 and New Urban Agenda’.

GFHS 2018 will seek to promote sustainable cities and human settlements for all by facilitating the transformation of cities from quantitative growth to high-quality development through innovation. The Forum will also serve as an observance of the World Cities Day.

GFHS 2018 will discuss, inter alia: localization of SDG 11 and the New Urban Agenda (NUA); resilient and circular economy; financing for sustainable urban infrastructure; the International Green Model City Initiative; and commercialization of blockchain technology and smart cities.

The meeting is organized by the GFHS and the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), in collaboration with relevant UN Agencies, the Global One Belt One Road Association (GOBA) and the Better City Institute (BCI).
