2-4 November 2016 Marrakesh, Marrakech, Morocco
Global Exchange on IPLC Engagement in Climate Finance and Policy

This event will aim to strengthen: capacities of indigenous peoples and local communities (IPLC) on issues related to the UNFCCC, the Paris Agreement, Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), climate finance and the Green Climate Fund (GCF); and networks and alliances of IPLC organizations in order to enhance their contributions to discussions on the definition of policies, guidelines and implementation related to climate finance. The Global Executing Agency of the Dedicated Grant Mechanism for Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (DGM) is organizing the event just prior to the start of the 22nd session of the Conference of Parties (COP 22) to the UNFCCC. Twenty-two IPLC leaders from 15 countries in Asia, Latin America and Africa have been invited to attend. The DGM was conceived and designed by IPLC and is funded through the Forest Investment Program (FIP) of the Climate Investment Funds (CIF). It provides the resources to enable IPLC to strengthen their participation in the FIP and other REDD+ processes.
