10-11 November 2014 Beijing, China
Global Efficient Lighting Forum

The en.lighten initiative is organizing the Global Efficient Lighting Forum to “develop a global plan of action for a coordinated transition to energy efficient lighting”. Participants will include governments, regional organizations, the private sector, development agencies and international financial institutions. The Forum will help leaders of these participating organizations define a strategy for expediting the transition to energy efficient lighting in all sectors nationally, regionally and globally. The Global Action Plan that is expected to result will define the actions, methodologies and tools that will ensure such a transition is achieved. The Plan will include specifics on targets, responsibilities and time frames. Organizers foresee it as being a blueprint for energy efficiency transitions in other appliance sectors. Besides the development of the Global Action Plan, the Forum will more generally be an opportunity to exchange best practices, ideas and progress related to advanced lighting technologies. The en.lighten initiative is a project of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and Global Environment Facility (GEF).
