GLF Kyoto 2019

Convening in Kyoto, Japan, back-to-back with the 49th session of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC 49), which is expected to release its Methodology Report to refine the 2006 IPCC Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventories, the Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) will focus on sustainable landscapes as a critical part of the climate solution. GLF Kyoto 2019 will bring together experts from academia, policy and practice under the theme, ‘Climate, Landscapes and Lifestyles: It Is Not Too Late,’ to consider practical and immediate actions for a climate-smart future, such as changes in trade, food production, investments, lifestyle and diet.

The GLF is a multi-stakeholder platform with a global secretariat led by the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) and core funding provided by the Government of Germany. GLF Kyoto 2019 is followed by GLF Bonn 2019 addressing the issue of land rights.
