This event will launch a report titled, 'Spotlight on Sustainable Development 2017 – Reclaiming Policies for the Public'. The report was produced by a global coalition of civil society organizations and trade unions, and provides an assessment of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The 2017 edition of this civil society “shadow” report focuses on privatization, partnerships, the role of corporations and the impact they have on sustainability and inequality. According to the report, the heavy reliance on public-private partnerships in the 2030 Agenda is highly problematic.
