The World Health Organization (WHO), the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), and organizations participating in the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) on Standard Operating Procedures are working on improving international responses to health emergencies such as Ebola and the spread of the zika virus. Margaret Chan, Director-General of WHO, and Stephen O'Brien, Under Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief, will brief General Assembly members on progress.
