G7 Foreign Affairs and Security Ministers: Building a More Peaceful and Secure World

G7 Foreign Affairs and Security Ministers will discuss the theme, 'Building a more peaceful and secure world,' during this event.

Chrystia Freeland, Minister of Foreign Affairs, will chair the discussion sessions on foreign affairs with her G7 counterparts. Ralph Goodale, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, will chair the discussions sessions on public safety with his G7 counterparts. Ministers will co-chair a joint session on 23 April.

The 2018 Group of Seven (G7) Leaders' Summit will convene under the presidency of Canada in Charlevoix, Quebec, from 8-9 June 2018.

The Group of Seven (G7) presidency for 2018 has selected five themes to guide discussions during the year: investing in growth that works for everyone; preparing for jobs of the future; advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment; working together on climate change, oceans and clean energy; and building a more peaceful and secure world.
