The Leaders of the Group of Twenty held an initial meeting in Washington DC, US, on 15 November 2008, amid serious challenges to the world economy and financial markets. They will continue debates on how to address the global crisis and its impacts on sustainable development at their next meeting in the UK in April 2009.
