G20 Summit 2024

The 19th Heads of State and Government Summit of the Group of 20 (G20) will take place in November 2024 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The Leaders’ Summit is the climax of the G20 process and the work carried out over the year through Ministerial Meetings, Working Groups, and Engagement Groups. The G20 adopts a Leaders’ Declaration at the conclusion of the Summit that states Leaders’ commitment towards the priorities discussed and agreed upon during the Ministerial and Working Group Meetings.

The 2024 Summit’s theme is ‘Building a Just World and a Sustainable Planet’.

The Summit will be attended by 19 member countries, plus the African Union (AU) and the EU. The 19 countries are Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Germany, France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Mexico, the Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Türkiye, the UK, and the US. Brazil will hold the Presidency of the G20 from 1 December 2023 to 30 November 2024.
