This meeting is co-organized by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Viet Nam, the Ministry of the Environment of Japan, and the UN Centre for Regional Development, under the theme of “3Rs in the Context of Rio+20 Outcome – The Future We Want”. The meeting is expected to address, among other matters: 3Rs (reduce, reuse, and recycle) and resource efficiency measures towards achieving the outcome of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20); new and emerging waste issues in terms of policy, institutional, and technological considerations; 3R infrastructures towards resource efficient and zero waste society; 3Rs as the basis for sustainable waste management in small island developing States (SIDS), and multi‐stakeholders partnerships in advancing 3Rs and resource efficiency; and performance indicators in 3Rs and resource efficiency.
