Fourth Meeting of Inter-Agency and Expert Group on SDGs

The Inter-Agency and Expert Group on the Sustainable Development Goal Indicators (IAEG-SDGs) will hold its fourth meeting in Geneva, Switzerland, from 15-18 November 2016, hosted by the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). The meeting was originally scheduled for 18-21 October, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, but changed due to a State of Emergency declared in Ethiopia. The first two days (15-16 November) will be a Members meeting, and the second two days (17-18 November) will be a plenary session open to all countries, international and regional agencies and entities, and other stakeholders. The objectives of IAEG-SDGs 4 are to: Finalize the initial tier system for indicators; Establish a process for the refinement of indicators; Review work plans for Tier III indicators; Discuss options for those indicators that do not have a proposed custodian agency; and Review data flows from national to regional and global level and discuss best practices for the delivery of these data.
