Fourth High-Level Round Table on the ITPGR

Titled 'The International Treaty, Climate Change and Food Security,' the Fourth High-Level Round Table on the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGR) will take place on the occasion of the 69th session of the UN General Assembly and the UN Secretary General's Climate Change Summit. It aims to facilitate high-level discussion of how monetary and non-monetary benefits generated from the utilization of plant germplasm under the Treaty can support agricultural innovation for breeding climate-smart seeds; discuss how to address climate change impacts on food crops through Treaty systems; and showcase the value of the Treaty's Benefit-sharing Fund and its projects for climate adaptation of food crops.
