20-22 April 2016 Addis Ababa, Adis Abeba, Ethiopia
Fourth High Level Forum on UN Global Geospatial Information Management

Co-organized by the UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), the Government of Ethiopia and the UN Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM), this event will bring together 400 geospatial experts and land management stakeholders to address the overarching theme of ‘Good land governance for the 2030 Agenda'. The discussions will cover, among other topics: land administration and management, with particular emphasis on sharing experiences, including benefits and challenges; consideration of fit-for-purpose aspects; digital land registers, cadastres, and other land data needs; practical examples of land administration success stories; and the geospatial information requirements for land administration and management in Africa. Various commercial exhibitions will showcase the latest products and services in geospatial science and technology. UN-GGIM was established in 2011 with the aim of setting the agenda for global geospatial information development and promoting the benefits of geospatial information for addressing national policy. The High-Level Forum encourages collaboration between professional bodies and experts working in land governance, including UN bodies and other international organizations, to identify and address common issues of land management and governance in support of sustainable development.
