The fourth African Carbon Forum is being held under the theme “Promoting Green and Low Carbon Development in Africa”. Organized by the Nairobi Framework Partners, the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), the UNEP Risoe Centre (URC), the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA), the UN Development Programme (UNDP), the World Bank (WB) and the Africa Development Bank (AfDB), the Forum will host a series of plenary sessions, round tables and workshops to discuss topics related to the carbon market in Africa. Topics to be addressed include the second commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol, plans of action and scaled-up mitigation actions, improving energy access in Africa and REDD+.
