Forest Day 6: Shaping the Global Agenda for Forests and Climate

Forest Day 6 will take place on the sidelines of the 18th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 18) to the UNFCCC. It seeks to inform UNFCCC's global agenda and forest stakeholders on ways to move forward with agreements on REDD+ (reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries, and the role of conservation, sustainable use of forests and enhancement of carbon stock) reached at COP 17 in Durban, South Africa, to produce social and environmental benefits, good governance, long-term financing and the integration of forests into adaptation strategies on the ground. Forest Day is hosted by members of the Collaborative Partnership on Forests (CPF) and coordinated by the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) on behalf of and in collaboration with other CPF members.
