First Meeting of the International Advisory Council for the Advancement of Justice, Governance and Law for Environmental Sustainability

The Network for the Advancement of Justice, Governance and Law for Environmental Sustainability, supported by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), Organization of American States (OAS), and World Congress on Justice, Governance and Law for Environmental Sustainability, will hold the first session of the new International Advisory Council under the theme “Collaboration and Synergies in the Implementation of the Rio+20 Declaration on Justice, Governance and Law for Environmental Sustainability”. The meeting will feature two discussion panels, one on the advancement of key principles on justice, governance and law for environmental sustainability addressing such issues as public participation and enabling conditions, and the other discussing stakeholders' roles in supporting institutional frameworks from the national to the global level. Panel members will include judges from Argentina, Brazil, Kenya, Malaysia and the Caribbean Court of Justice.
