First Meeting of the CFS OEWG on SDGs

The Open-Ended Working Group (OEWG) on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was created by the Committee on World Food Security (CFS) at its 42nd session, with the task to discuss how CFS can put the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the SDGs at the center of its work. Specifically, the OEWG is expected to analyze those SDGs that are related to sustainable agriculture and food security and nutrition and agree on how CFS can provide a platform for sharing, learning and identifying challenges and achievements and address policy gaps. The first meeting of the OEWG will allow participants to share their views on the objectives, scope and work of the OEWG, and to initiate a discussion on CFS' role and activities to support progress on the implementation of the SDGs falling within its mandate.
