Financing the Future Conference

The ‘Financing the Future: Fresh Perspectives on Global Development' (FtF) conference will explore how international public finance can contribute to accelerating progress for development from 2015. The conference aims to identify specific contributions to the Financing for Development (FfD) process and influence key decision-makers ahead of the Third International Conference on FfD taking place in Addis, Ababa, in July 2015 (FfD 3). The FtF conference will include: presentations and a discussion on key debates and policy processes related to financing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); an overview of recent and expected trends in the use and impact of international public finance, as well as alternative perspectives on international public finance; a technical session comparing international public finance with other forms of development finance; a plenary session on country financing scenarios and implications for the FfD agenda; and a session on proposals for the FfD agreement. The Overseas Development Institute (ODI) and a coalition of partners, including the UN Development Programme (UNDP), are hosting the conference.
