This meeting will seek to reinforce cooperation between African and Latin American and Caribbean countries in the framework of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD). The overall aim is to help countries in both regions adopt an integrated approach to tackling the problem of desertification by promoting sustainable development, eradicating poverty and by responding to people’s real needs.
