The Fifth Regional Consultation on Groundwater Governance will take place in The Hague, the Netherlands, from 19-21 March 2013, marking the outset of activities celebrating World Water Day 2013. The consultation will focus on the characteristics of groundwater use in North America, Europe and Central Asia (including all EECCA countries) and seeks to promote discussion about specific challenges and priorities within the regional context. The regional consultations are a fundamental component of the project on “Groundwater Governance: A Global framework for Action,” which is being executed by UNESCO International Hydrological Programme (IHP), the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH) and the World Bank.
